Novel Funding helps small businesses find funding by matching them with funding sources in our network. We are not a lead broker, and we never sell your information. We earn compensation from funding sources when a funded transaction closes, not from selling your data.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you submit an application or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name and the name of your business
  • Email address and mobile phone number
  • The amount of funding you are seeking and how soon you need it
  • Time in business and general information about your business situation
  • Any additional information you choose to provide to help us match you with a funding source, which may include business and financial documentation (for example, bank statements or ownership information) if you elect to provide it later in the process

We do not perform a credit pull as part of the initial application.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits, including through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

Information from referral partners. If you were referred to us by an affiliate or other referral partner, we may receive your contact and business information from that partner so we can assist you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Review your application and match you with funding sources in our network
  • Communicate with you about your application, including its status and any questions we need answered to process it
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and misuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

We do not use your information to send marketing or promotional text messages.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as needed to provide the Services or as required by law:

  • With funding sources. To find you funding, we share your application information with one or more funders, lenders, or funding partners in our network so they can evaluate your request and present offers. This sharing is necessary to deliver the service you request.
  • With service providers. We use trusted vendors (for example, hosting, communications, and analytics providers) who process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Novel Funding, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer. If Novel Funding is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your information, and we are not a lead broker. We do not share your information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. In particular, mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

5. Text Messaging (SMS) and Communications

When you provide your mobile phone number in our application or otherwise, you agree that Novel Funding may contact you by phone call and text message (SMS) at that number in connection with your application.

  • What we send. Our text messages are limited to conversational and customer-care messages about your application - for example, status updates and questions we need answered to process your funding request.
  • No marketing. We do not send marketing, advertising, or promotional text messages. We do not run SMS marketing campaigns.
  • Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your application activity.
  • Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opting out. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you opt out, we may send a single confirmation message, and we may still contact you by phone or email about your application. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details in Section 12.
  • Carrier disclaimer. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • No sharing for marketing. Your mobile information and SMS consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, and improve performance. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the website functions.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Because we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no "sale" of your information to opt out of.

The Services are intended for businesses and individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
